Similar conditions to yesterday but a much better day's sailing. Early
start again and feet were in the straps at Lancing by 9am. With high tide
an hour later the water state was enjoyable for longer today, and the first
hour was a cracker. Totally stacked on the 5.2/waveboard combo so plenty of
big mutha jumps were scored. The water state then started turning into
choplumpcrap as the tide pushed up and launching through the onshore waves
became difficult so...
Packed up at 11am and went to Worthing. There were lots of reports of great
conditions there yesterday around high tide so no need to piss around with
a river session. And indeed when I arrived 11.30am I was amazed at how easy
it looked! By now Lancing would have been seriously closing out, but at
Worthing the tide was still well back and the waves were smaller with huge
flat gaps in between them - it looked good. So another 1.5hrs of solid
powered up sailing was enjoyed, with some more good jumps, gybes and
backside-bum-wiggles, the only real difference being that I went out on the
bigger board as the wind was slightly lighter. (and of course that it was
much easier sailing, at times a bit dull when the waves didn't ramp up
correctly to be jumped off...)
Mmmm a solid weekend on the water. :)
